Human Virus Kills Breast Cancer in 7 Days

New research by a team of scientists from the College of Medicine, Penn State to a powerful treatment against breast cancer. The study found that the "cure" is actually a virus.

Known as adeno-associated virus type 2 (AAV2), the virus is found in nature in almost 80 percent of all people, but is not harmful. It has the potential to be used as a target for cancer came in 2005 when researchers at Penn State also noted that kills the cells of cervical cancer. Furthermore, if the virus was present together with the human papillomavirus (HPV) in women, a compound known to cervical cancer, the rates of cancer of the cervix was lower, the researchers said.

Recent research has considered eradicated the cells of the breast cancer "in seven days" and was in various stages of disease progression more effectively, with the enhanced possibility of suffering less severe treatments commonly used in advanced cases. Cancer researchers at Penn State, Samina Alam, said: "If we are able to determine which viral genes are used, we may be able to introduce these genes into a [treatment]." Add that the research may allow scientists to activate the channels by the virus, leading to more drug could be determined specifically lead to the same target tracks, "or we can use only in the position to the virus itself."

According to the Centers for Disease Control, breast cancer is cancer that more than 230,000 the number of women in the U.S. each year and, after lung cancer deaths, with about 40,000 women lose their battle against breast cancer, this has "years.
