Pomegranates Prevent Breast Cancer?

The fruits of researchers, anti-aromatase phytochemicals, such as grenades contain associated with a reduced risk of breast cancer hormone-dependent.

"Phytochemicals suppress estrogen production, which the proliferation of breast cancer cells and tumor growth inhibits estrogen-sensitive," principal investigator shiuan Chen, Ph.D., Director of the Department of Biology of tumor cells and co-Director, Program in cancer Research at City of Hope Duarte, California, was cited.

The researchers found ellagic derivatives and compounds found in pomegranates and checked the connections are capable of estrogen-sensitive prevention of breast cancer.

"More research on the different ingredients and the combination of chemicals needed for the potential risks and benefits of pomegranate juice or isolated compounds to understand for a health benefit or for cancer prevention," Powel Brown, MD, Ph.D.. D., an oncologist and chairman of the Department of clinical cancer Prevention at the University of Texas MD Anderson cancer Center, was quoted as saying.

"This study suggests that the ellagitannins from studies of grenades should continue," concludes Dr. Brown.
