Red Wine May Help Stop Breast Cancer Growth

Now it is October, it seems that everything went pink Breast Cancer Awareness Month! But when it comes to reducing the risk of breast cancer, it may be a deeper red. Researchers have recently found that red wine can grow to help prevent breast cancer cells.

The resveratrol in red wine, which also prevents damage to blood vessels, lowers bad cholesterol and prevent blood clots, is what researchers believe in the spotlight in favor of breast cancer. Published in The FASEB Journal, the researchers found that resveratrol specifically blocks the growth of breast cancer cells by blocking the action of estrogen on growth.

In the study of breast cancer, researchers have different cell lines of breast cancer, the estrogen receptor, used to test the effects of resveratrol. The researchers treated the different breast cancer cells with resveratrol and its growth as compared to cells that have left without care, without resveratrol. In cells treated with resveratrol, there was a reduction of cell growth, whereas no changes were observed in untreated cells. Other research has shown that this effect causes a drastic reduction in the levels of estrogen receptor by resveratrol was also connected, according to ScienceDaily.

Although the researchers say there is no reason for women to go and start to drink much red wine or buy resveratrol supplements, is another reason that red wine and resveratrol merits further study. It also shows the strength of our food when it comes to breast cancer.

Drink red wine? Remember, most doctors recommend that women drink only one glass per day for the health benefits!
